Moto Babe

Mckenzie Kay

This shoot with Mckenzie was soooo fun and experimental! She gave me creative reign for whatever I wanted to do for the theme, so, feeling inspired from my desert hometown and some wild black leather, the punky yet innocent "Moto Babe" came to fruition.

I hand painted and re-designed the featured vintage leather jacket specifically for the shoot! Adding in sparkling rhinestones and a million safety pins for that extra layer of awesome. I sourced the remainder of the wardrobe from pop-out black pieces in my closet, throwbacks to a more punk version of myself (circa like 8 years ago.)  We also incorporated a fun vegan jacket and thigh high boots that were Mckenzie's own pieces, couldn't have completed the looks without them! My fantastic brother was also awesome enough to let us use his shiny black motorcycle as a prop. It was funny because the theme became more blacked out than I even planned when Mckenzie showed up to the shoot in her brand new black Camaro, it was the literal black 'icing' to the cake. The theme came together even more perfectly than I could have imagined. Shooting all afternoon around the wild desert mountains of Bootleg Canyon, the last look of the day in pure golden hour glow as the sun rolled down behind the rocky desert scape.
